Sponsored Search feature close

Document Number: APIE-FY19-2010

Dear customer,

Thank you for using Yahoo! JAPAN Promotional Ads.

Following two features of Sponsored Search has closed as previously
announced. Please see below for details.

Once again, thank you for using Yahoo! JAPAN Promotional Ads.

1. Product:
 Sponsored Search

2. Versions to be effected:
 Sponsored Search API V201808, V201901

3. End Date:
 September 25, 2019 (Wed) JST

4. Overview:
We have closed following two features.

4-1. Display Method: Display ads as quickly as possible
The display method "Display ads as quickly as possible" for
campaigns of Sponsored Search has closed.
The option item "Display Method" on the Campaign Management Tool
has been removed and regardless of the settings before the change
ads will be delivered as "Display ads evenly over time".
Campaigns with the display method "Display ads evenly over time"
  will not be affected.
  - From September 17, 2019 (Tue) to September 19, 2019 (Thu)
The system has been revised to deliver ads with "Display ads
evenly over time", regardless of the setting on "Display Method".
  - On September 25, 2019 (Wed) JST
The item "Display Method" has been removed from the Campaign
   Management Tool and Campaign Editor.
   * Although the item "Display Method" is not removed from
Sponsored Search API, the item will not be included in the
   scheduled new Yahoo!Ads API.
 4-2. Avg. Position
The report field "AVG_DELIVER_RANK" (Avg. Position) which is
available on Sponsored Search API has sunset.
When specifying the index after the close, the index value returns
  as "--" (double hyphens).
  - Report types that include the sunset item:

The tracking parameter {adposition} (the position on the page
where an ad displayed) has become unavailable after
  "Adv. Position" closed.
The {adposition} is not available on adding and editing Tracking
  URL and etc., after the close. Tracking with existing {adposition}
becomes unavailable, and empty string will return.
There is no effect on ad delivery.

5. Remarks:
After "AVG_DELIVER_RANK" (Avg. Position) is closed, you can use new
indexes related to "top" and "absolute top" impressions.
The new indexes include lost impression shares for top and absolute
top locations. You can use these indexes to improve ad quality or
change bids to maximize your ad performance.
More details of new indexes are available on the following announcement.
