YDN targeting feature enhancement

Dear customer,

Thank you for using Yahoo! JAPAN Promotional Ads.

Some enhancements will be made to the targeting feature in Yahoo!
JAPAN Display Ad Network (YDN). Please see below for details.

1. Product:
Yahoo! JAPAN Display Ad Network (YDN)

2. Schedule:
Late February 2019
*We will make another announcement once the schedule has been
decided. Schedule may change without prior notice.

3. Overview:
The following changes will be made to the targeting feature in
YDN.

(1) Bid adjustment setting for each predicted user
Within gender and age targeting, setting individual bid adjustment
for predicted users of the selected gender or age will be available.
Difference between the existing predictive targeting is below.

<Before>
Setting bid adjustment collectively for users of the
selected gender or age and predicted users. The display
on the UI will be "Male (predicted)".
<After>
Setting bid adjustment individually for users of the
selected gender or age and predicted users. The display
on the UI will be divided into "Male" and "Male (predicted)".
*Targeting predicted users only is not available.

Example setting after effective date
Adjust bid on gender targeting to deliver ads mainly to male users.
- Male: Increase by 50%
- Male (predicted): Increase by 25%
*For the case above, setting only "Male (predicted)" will not be
allowed. Please set "Male" and "Male (predicted)" together.

Predicted users will be displayed on a separate line in the
targeting list page of the Campaign Management Tool. This will
enable you to check performance data by predicted users, and
change the bid adjustment rate within the targeting list page.

*"EstimateFlg" used in "AgeTarget" and "GenderTarget" for YDN
API will change as below.
<Before>
PAUSED: No ad delivery to predicted users
ACTIVE: Ad delivery to predicted users
<After>
PAUSED: Ad delivery to users of specified gender/age
ACTIVE: Ad delivery to users of specified gender/age
and predicted users
When setting predicted users as the target after the effective
date, set both "PAUSED" and "ACTIVE". Setting only "ACTIVE" is
not allowed.
All YDN API versions will be affected by the above modification.

(2) Changes in download file
Due to this change, "Targeting" will be added to the download
file. The existing item "Predictive targeting" will be changed
to "Predicted users".

(3) Display of performance data per targeting setting
Performance data for each targeting setting will be displayed
on the targeting list page of the Campaign Management Tool.
No need to create performance reports after the effective date
as the performance data will be displayed on UI.

4. Precautions:
When "Do not set (Display to all)" ("All devices" for device
targeting) is selected for the targeting settings below, all
items of that targeting will be displayed as "Allow (all)" on
the targeting list page of the Campaign Management Tool.
- Gender targeting
- Age targeting
- Device targeting
- Carrier targeting (set in the "Device" column)

5. Remarks:
Targeting in YDN enables you to deliver ads to users who meet
the specified conditions such as gender and location. Effective
advertising can be expected by narrowing down the target for ad
delivery to potential customers of the service/product, and by
adjusting bids depending on the conditions.
